In 2011, she also formed a violin-piano duo, duo 526, with violinist Kerry DuWors. Ms. Niekawa is a committed advocate of contemporary music, which has led her to inaugurate an annual series of concerts in Tokyo, Japan featuring the works of living Japanese composers. She also performs regularly as an organist and harpsichordist and currently holds the organist position at the Church of St. Jerome in East Rochester, New York. Her vast interest in music has also led her to collaborate with musicians from other genres in the New England area, and Ms. Niekawa appears frequently as a performer in Boston's free-improvisation scene.
